Obama Picture 2

Three things I infer from this photo:
Based on this photo, I can infer that President Obama's stern face makes him looked concerned/worried.  I can also infer that Obama looks like he leaning forward listening attentively to someone as they speak to him while sitting at a desk.  The last thing I could infer is that even though Obama looks like he is listening attentively to someone speak, he also looks really tired and overwhelmed by what he is listening to.

What questions does this photo raise in your mind?
1. Why does Obama look so tired? Is the BP oil spill dilemma keeping the big man awake at night?
2. Why is the background of this photo so blurry? Does the media not want people to see exactly where Obama is sitting or what's in the background?
3. Does Obama really think the BP oil spill will ruin him and his career?

Which picture gives you more confidence in the president's leadership abilities? Why?
-The first picture gives me more confidence in the president's leadership abilities becuase he looks more active and ready to handle the problem. Obama has his sleeves rolled up as if he is ready to get his hands dirty and is surrounded by other important people that are also trying to help fix the problem.  This picture also shows he is being active about the dilemma (picture impling he has just arrived at the Gulf Coast) rather than just sitting at a desk being briefed on the situation.  Showing that he is there at the scene physical there to do something rather than sitting at a desk shows the public in my opinion a better use of leadership abilities. This picture also looks like Obama is smiling, which gives people courage that Obama has the problem under control and he is ready to face this problem head on, opposed to the other picture where he looks concerned, overwhelmed, and tired.  He looks like he might not know how to fix this problem and is scared that the public might turn on him for not handling the situation well.
